  • The weather forecast looks daunting for Saturday, June 27.

    Our plan:

  • We will be there at 7:00 AM to set up
  • Races will start at 8:00 AM and field events will be held based on safe conditions for those events.
  • In case of lightning or thunder, we will delay 30 minutes until we get 30 minutes free of thunder/lightning.
  • We do have a 4x800 M60 world record attempt planning to go at 9:10 AM after the mile sections, so if the weather can hold out, we should see an exciting event
  • We will hold field events based on conditions, for example, long jump: if we get constant rain, no long jump as rain is not a safe jumping condition, even if no lightning
For those going up to HCC for the Eastern regional:
  • Jerry Bookin-Weiner has informed me that they will accept race day entries.
  • "In view of the forecast for tomorrow, we will accept on-site registrations on Sunday until 10 am. The fee will be the regular mail-in fee + a $10 late fee. Payable by check on-site made out to Howard Community College."
  • Furthermore, they will try to conduct all of the Saturday events if they can.
  • The prediction is bad weather particularly after 4:00 PM, so they will try to have the 5km racewalk at 3:00 PM and the 5km run right after that.
  • If the weather doesn't allow thoise events, they will go at 9:00 AM on Sunday.

    Thanks,
    Craig Chasse, president PVTC
