Alliance Please sponsor Potomac River Run Marathon and Half Marathon, on Sunday, May 4, 2008, starting and finishing at Belle Haven Park on the George Washington Memorial Parkway.  This historic 26.2-mile race is our 5th annual event, a co-operative effort by running clubs and charities to showcase our national parks and to support our beneficiaries:

    Saturday, May 3:

  •   9:30 am - Belle Haven Park - Mount Vernon Trail clean-up (informal -- bring work gloves & trash bags -- fax volunteer credit forms to 303-942-5193 for race director's signature)
  • 10 am - Belle Haven Park - Free tour of the course - run 5K or 8K
  • 2 pm to 6 pm - College of Running, open to the public, Courtyard by Marriott, 2700 Eisenhower Avenue, Alexandria VA, four miles from the race
  •   6 pm - International dinner at Courtyard by Marriott ($20 on May 3) -- featuring guest speaker Christine Hsu of TV's "The Amazing Race"

    Sunday, May 4:

  • 6:30 am - Belle Haven Park - Marathon and half marathon - non-competitive early-bird start
  • 7:00 am - Belle Haven Park - Marathon and half marathon - non-competitive early-bird start
  • 8:00 am to 12 noon - Belle Haven Park - Post-race picnic, followed by post-race trail clean-up

    Since entry fees cover all expenses of the race, sponsors' donations go 100% to our beneficiaries. You can donate gift certificates, refreshments, or in-kind support.  Your logo goes on our race flyers, t-shirts, and race signage.  With radio, television, and newspaper coverage, your sponsorship is highly visible.  We offer these sponsor levels:

  • GOLD: $2,000 or more ... PRIME SPONSOR: Your name and logo go on our publicity, bib numbers, start / finish, web site, and the front of our t-shirt.

  • RED: $1,000 or more ... Your name and logo go on our publicity, start / finish, web site, and the front of our t-shirt.

  • WHITE: $500 or more ... Your name and logo go on our publicity, web site, and t-shirt

  • BLUE: $250 or more (or ten $25 gift certificates) ... Your name goes on our publicity, web site, and t-shirt

  • GRAY: $100 or more (or four $25 gift certificates) ... Your name goes on our publicity and web site

  • All sponsors are invited on race day to present their gift certificates personally to their award winners
  • Reply by December 31 to be included on all our pre-race publicity. Your logo on will go on t-shirts, signs, and ads in goodie bags
  • Please send 400 inserts by April 15 for insertion into runners' goodie bags
